Ref.: Invitation to Parque Ecológico Provincial Guillermo Enrique Hudson

(William Henry Hudson Museum and Ecological Park), located in

Florencio Varela, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Dear Ms. Atwood,

In an interview with the Argentinian daily newspaper La Nación, published last July 12 in its cultural magazine “ADN Cultura”, we have read that you express your admiration

for the author, naturalist and ornithologist, William Henry Hudson and his work.

Since we also know that you and your husband, Mr. Graeme Gibson, will be attending the BirdLife World Conservation Conference 2008, to be held in Buenos Aires on 22- 27 September, we wish to cordially invite both of you to visit the William Henry Hudson Museum and Ecological Park, located in Florencio Varela, Province of Buenos Aires (5o km far from Buenos Aires city).

The house where Hudson was born and grew up is now a Museum, which is

surrounded by native forest where you will find a great variety of birds, so loved by the author. We also want to point out that he wrote several books on birds of Argentina, and was a founding member of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

Our official website (in Spanish) is: http://museohudson.gov.ar

Likewise, we copy below a link to an article published in The Christian Science Monitor, called “A revival of Argentina’s Thoreau”, in which the correspondent describes a visit made to the Park during last year.
